Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of Patch World. It is the centre of gravity that informs each decision we make. Looking out for Earth is key: here is how we do our best to Respect Our Mother.
Waste Not!
- This is our raison-d’etre: our DIY Costume Patch Kits help create something new, from something used. A creative approach to waste is our best bet at tackling a big problem.
Pay It Forward
- We have a responsibility as adults to not only make the most sustainable choices we can, but to educate and inspire the next generation. We will be focused on promoting curiosity and sustainability with kids, sharing resources for sustainable play and projects through our newsletter and blog.
New Trees Please
- In collaboration with the amazing folks at Ecologi, we plant a tree for each DIY Costume Kit sold. You can follow our forest here
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- The paper packaging is printed on paper made from 100% genuine de-inked post consumer waste.
- Any paper we receive as a business is reused, cardboard is recycled or repurposed into photoshoot props.
- All our mailers and postage sleeves etc are recyclable.
Back To The Earth
- If you purchased a DIY Costume Kit from one of our [stockists](link to page) , the cellophane wrap is 100% biodegradable, pop it in the compost.
Say No To Plastic!
- We make every decision with a step to being a plastic-free business. We do not pass on any plastic waste to the consumer, any plastic we receive, we always attempt to re-use it as many times as possible, in a creative or constructive way. We only source packaging materials (tape, glue etc) that is backed on recyclable materials.
Honesty Is The Best Policy
- You’ll note we’re not boasting at being a plastic free business: we’re certainly ANTI PLASTIC, and are doing everything we can for it to not be a part of Patch World, it certainly isn’t involved in our products at any stage. We believe in transparency, and we’ll be sharing our efforts to be as sustainable as possible moving forward. If there’s something you’d like to see us doing better, please do let us know.
